what is the deal?

Yesterday I had more intense contractions for most of the day. I was able to ignore them and still do things some of the time--with breaks when a big one came. I also took some time to lay down and get in the zone with my HypnoBabies stuff. And we took a walk. But they didn't get any closer together than 5 minutes. The only thing different is that I'm losing more of my mucus plug. Lovely, I know. And now after reading Ariana's comment about painful false labor for 2 weeks(!) I am getting paranoid. On a good note, I have been able to sleep well. (Except for the many bathroom breaks.) I've also been getting some really good HypnoBabies practice in.

So far this morning has been uneventful, but they didn't start yesterday until about 10:30, so we'll see. I honestly have not been anxious for him to come since he's still early, but I don't want to go through days and days or weeks of this. It's not very fun.

  1. one of my friends was on very restricted bedrest until she hit 36 weeks. She was on medication to prevent labor from starting, and they thought as soon as they took her off that, the baby would come...she ended up going full term. don't you love how it's totally impossible to predict?!

  2. You'll go soon. That was kind of my experience with false labor for two weeks before Eli. It's hard when you keep expecting it and it doesn't come. Oh, the suspense is unbearable!

  3. This is the hardest part--because it's unpredictable. But it will be over soon. And each day Asher waits will better his chances when he finally makes an appearance.

    It's frustrating, I know. You're coping beautifully. :)

  4. Oh no girlfriend! I was in very painful labor w/one of my boys for 48 hours - I did get morphine in between to help me sleep, though. Morphine = happiness. Extreme happiness.

Seems like this may be somewhat of a dramatic ending. It sure makes for good reading though... Hang in there Kat!

  5. Welcome to my steaming hot pile of misery! But, the good news is, his days are numbered...I've been there for 2 weeks, I'm down to 4 days at most...you'll get there too. Just practice and focus and it will get better.

  6. Oh Katrina...I feel for you! Hang in there. I know you must feel a little bit crazy, wanting him to come--not wanting him to come yet. I'll be thinking of you. You can do it!
