32 weeks

How your baby's growing: By now, your baby weighs 3.75 pounds (pick up a large jicama) and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in your uterus. You're gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to your baby. In fact, he'll gain a third to half of his birth weight during the next 7 weeks as he fattens up for survival outside the womb. He now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). His skin is becoming soft and smooth as he plumps up in preparation for birth.

We made it another week. The past few days have actually been really good as far as contractions go. Meaning I haven't had as many. Hopefully that trend continues for a few more weeks. The whole weight gain thing has been rather weird for me. I gained the vast majority of my weight in about 6 weeks. Then I actually lost some after the hospital incident and now I think I'm back about where I was a few weeks ago. It's strange. I seem to gain in spurts and then stop for awhile. Hopefully, another spurt comes so Asher puts on some more weight. Although, luckily, when I had the ultrasound at the hospital two weeks ago they guessed he was a little ahead of schedule size wise.

  1. I had to click on your blog from the LDS Women Bloggers site as I am also a redhead! And when I saw this post I was so excited, I am coming along with a little bambino/a. And I have lived in Bountiful also! Anyhow, I have 10 years on ya, and three more kids, but I had to wish you luck and hope that baby stays in a little bit longer - good luck and take care!

  2. I love this phase in pregnancy. I love the size of your belly- 32 weeks is a good time.

I can't believe you're that far along- it seems like just last month you were announcing your pregnancy.
