I've been trying to spend less time on the computer and more time getting my house more clean and orderly. Today I tackled the HUGE HUGE HUGE mountain of laundry that was taking over my bedroom floor. I often get hung up in the actual putting clothes away stage of doing laundry. It's something I need to work on.
Today I thought I'd share some links to blogs and articles that have caught my eye lately.
The Gift of Giving Life-- A blog with resources for LDS women about birth. Felice is also writing a book on birth for LDS women.
Women in the Scriptures-- A great blog all about women in the scriptures. Heather has also written a couple posts about birth that I LOVE---check out this and this.
The Artful Parent-- A mommy blog with an artful twist. Lots of inspiring ways to foster creativity in children. I want to be more like Jean.
Lady I Swear By All Flowers-- Chelsea has a lovely little blog that is a such a peaceful place to visit.
Domestic Felicity-- I don't remember how I found Anna's blog but its super interesting. She is an Orthodox Jew living in Israel. She blogs a lot about her views of men's and women's roles.
Passionate Homemaking-- A mommy blog with lots of inspiring ways to improve your life.
Adoption is Our Nutshell-- Found via Design Mom, this blog is written by a mom of 5 kids, 6 and under. 4 of her kids are adopted through the foster care system. In reading her blog, I was especially inspired by how she's let the Lord guide and direct her and change her heart.
Misspelled Tattoos-- From Huffington Post, a hilarious photo collection of misspelled tattoos. How does this happen? I mean wouldn't you double and triple check the spelling of such a permanent thing?
Secrets of American Idol-- A great article about how American Idol auditions really work.
Gisele Bundchen has pain free water birth-- I love hearing stories where women prepared and had a wonderful natural birth experience. If you know anything about hypnosis and childbirth, you know that it really is possible to do it without the overwhelming pain so many experience.
Herbs 101-- This Saturday I'm going to a free class on herbs, specifically for medicinal use. Check it out if you live in the area and are interested.
Holistic LDS Living Conference-- This conference looks super interesting. I would love to go but it is June 26th which is very, very close to my due date. Chances of me being able to go are slim.
*Added after Ariel's comment*
The Mormon Women Project-- This is really cool! In their own words: "The Mormon Women Project is a continuously expanding digital library of interviews with Latter-day Saint women from around the world." Lots of inspiring stuff here, ladies.
I think that's enough for now. Enjoy!
Katrina, you should check the Mormon Women Project (my cousin Neylan's new website) too if you haven't yet:

Wonderful, inspirational stuff about the power and achievements of women.
Hey Katrina-
ReplyDeleteFirst, congrats on baby #2, and second, I have a tip about the laundry issue.
I also struggle with actually putting the laundry away. I have no problem taking it from the hamper to the laundry and cleaning it, however, it's the folding, hanging, and putting away with which I struggle.
I recently acquired a rolling clothes rack on wheels (think bar with wheels for hanging clothes).
I put this in my laundry room, as well as all of my hangers.
For the past two weeks, I have successfully folded and hung all clothes as soon as they come out of the dryer. This seems to provoke me to immediately put them away.
Best of luck with the laundry monster. Also- I'm doing this project with a large laundry room and no children, so things might be a tad different for you!
Sarah :)
Thanks for the shout out. I love your blog by the way and it is fun for me to read because my son's name is Asher as well. Congrats on this new baby and I hope you don't mind if I blog stalk you now ;)
ReplyDeleteHeather, blog stalk away! :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you're going to Amy's herb class! I was planning on it till my family decided to come for the weekend. Enjoy for me...can't wait to hear all about it. You'll love Amy...she's incredible! Thanks for the other links...so are you doing a waterbirth? I won't go back to air birthing. :) It's so much more enjoyable. The only draw-back, the designer and I have decided, is that the "tree-of-life" print isn't quite as great. (not a convinceable draw-back though) :) Remind me to show you our three one of these days... luvs, trina
