cheering me up

I still have tons of blossom photos to edit, but I wanted to get a happier post on here. So here is a little preview. These photos make me really happy. I love spring.

  1. I love your photography. Can you tell me how you get the background to be blurry while focusing on a subject?

  2. Thanks, Kate. To get the background blurry, or a shallow depth of field, you need to use a large aperture (small f stop number) or you can use a zoom lens to zoom in, which gives a similar effect. If you don't have manual settings on your camera, you may have a macro setting which you could use for close ups like this one.

  4. Kate, I'd suggest getting out the manual to your camera. Each camera is a little different.

  5. Yes, these are very cheerful pictures. I wish you luck with your house hunt. There should be tons of good deals in Salt Lake with the economy the way it is.
