new lens

I ordered a new lens earlier this week and it arrived this morning. I'm excited to use it more, but I did go out and shoot a few pics of my roses this morning. So far so good. I got the Tamron AF 28-75mm f/2.8. I would have loved to get the fancier Nikon version or several other Nikon lenses, but this one was WAY more in my budget. I got it because I need a zoom lens that I can keep on my camera and still get most of the shots I need. The lens that came with my camera (Nikon's 18-105 mm) has the zoom range, but does not open up wide enough and so isn't great indoors and doesn't give that great shallow depth of field I like. I'm shooting a wedding tomorrow so we'll see how this lens does. I'm excited.

Here are few of the flower pics I took this morning.

  1. beeaauuutiful. :) I love the vibrancy of the colors. remind me if you shoot Aperture priority?

  2. Oh I adore your new lens! Can't wait to see the wedding pics. :)

  3. You know, your flower pictures are amazing. I am in love with the second one. Good work.
