wannabe

I just bought 4 domain names. I'm talking legit blankityblank.com domain names. One is for Jared for when he needs it someday. His name.com was already taken so I got his name.net. Just thinking of the future Dr. Jared who needs a place on the www with info about all his research and books and stuff.

The other three domain names are in reserve for my little photography business. Have you ever tried to name a business? It's hard. Especially when you have a long name like mine. My first and last name plus Photography is 10 syllables! 10! That is quite the mouthful. Just "Katrina Photography" is already taken. As is of course my very common last name. So then I was thinking I'd use my initials. But yeah, those are taken already too by some chick in New York.

So I've been batting around ideas that don't include my name and I came up with one I like and am nearly sold on. Don't think I'm quite ready to share yet though. I'm still feeling a little self-conscience about calling myself a photographer as it is. Don't get me wrong--- I LOVE taking photos! And this is something I've always wanted to do. And I know I have some talent. But I do still have SO much to learn.

The best way to learn is to DO. So that's what I've been doing, but with all the time it takes to edit, I couldn't keep taking photos for people for free. So I am now on my way to setting up my little business. I'm really excited. It's going to be a work in progress getting a website up and everything. I'm going to start with just a blog for the time being. I'll let you know when that much is ready.

Wish me luck! I already have several more shoots coming up.

  3. It IS hard coming up with a business name. We spent forever doing that for Josh's company, decided on one, then found out it was already registered. So then it was back to the drawing board. Anyway, good luck with your new endeavor! You'll be great.
