one of those days

It's been one of those days. You know. Just see the above photo.
Actually the past two days have been one of those days. I saw a lot of the crying face.
I'm not sure if it's a growth spurt, or if he's feeling a little sick, or if he's just plain tired, but it has not been fun.
And now I am just plain tired!
Also, my house is a disaster. Seriously.
I watched Oprah today and they were going to people's houses to help them organize and clean.
I could be one of those people. I would welcome the help and not even be that embarrassed at this point. Well, I'd still be embarrassed. But to have someone else clean and organize my house would be worth the embarrassment.
Yo, Oprah producers, wanna come over?

But it hasn't been all bad.
In fact, Asher has also had some really fun moments. We got him laughing the other night.
Oh, how I love the sound of my baby laughing!
Tonight between the hours of 7 and 9, he was just darling and now he is sleeping soundly.
Oh yeah, and we did take a nap together this afternoon, although I felt just as tired when I woke up as when I fell asleep. Go figure.
So say a prayer that it's a good night and Asher sleeps well.

  1. I'm sorry to hear it hasn't been going well the past couple days!! It's times like that that helps us appreciate the happy baby times that much more, right? It's SO HARD being a baby sometimes, huh, Asher?

  2. Babies are hard. Cute, but hard.

    Hang in there.

(Even with the sad face, he's still adorable.)

  3. At least you know you're not alone!

And why is that other people's screaming babies are so much cuter and funnier than your own? Asher's face is AWESOME in this picture but when the Boy is doing this I want to put him down and leave the room.

  4. yick...some days are just like that! I am sorry though. I had one of those days two days ago also. I just decided that I was going to get anything done, and that is was OK and the day was a perfect success.

  5. I love Asher's face. I wouldn't love it if it was Juliet's and I was listening to the screaming, but Asher is sure cute!!

Isn't it wonderful that they sleep? Seriously, that's often the high point of my day. It does get better as they get older, although babyhood has its wonderful moments too!!

  6. Welcome to real life with a child. I would say it gets better as they get older, but it doesn't!! It will always be up and down, then up and down again, sometimes over a few days sometimes within the same minute (like with a 3 year old!)

  7. dude, I feel that

My nub is a champion sleeper at night but man during the day it is hit or miss. Yesterday I wanted to slip him a sedative just so I could pass out too. He got a few shots and it was NO FUN.

Hope he sleeps like an angel for you tonight!

  8. Aaaww! Poor kid. All my babies started teething around this time... but it could be anything. That's the worst part about being a baby and being a baby's mother. They can't talk to you and tell you precisely what's bothering them. :( Hang in there, and don't worry about the house. There is a time and a season...

  9. Hey, sorry about your rough day. I had one of those days on Wednesday... the good ol' no sleep at night, followed by no sleep the following day. I was pretty emotional by the time Spencer came home, but luckily he took her and let me sleep for a little while. I can't imagine being a single mother!

  10. Those days. I hate when a day is one of those days.
