utah day 3: american fork canyon

After the copper mine, we headed south to Provo, picked up Hilary at BYU and grabbed some delish grub at Cafe Rio. Mmm mmm good! Man, I love that stuff. Anyway... they we went back North to American Fork Canyon where we met Jared and the kids. The plan was to hike up to Timpanogus Cave, but we ended up not having enough time AND there were no tickets left. So we just hiked part way up and then came back down. What a gorgeous time to be in the Utah mountains! Get ready for a whole lotta photos!

The reason we were on a time limit was that Jared's mom was getting married that night in Provo canyon. We were already in American Fork canyon so we drove the Alpine Loop into Provo Canyon. It was gorgeous! The rest of the photos are from stopping on the side of the road at various points along the way. If you want to see more, click on any of the photos and it will take you to my picassa album.

  2. what gorgeous colors! So much prettier than when we were there in July.

I'm so glad you posted these pictures--I have a soft spot for the Alpine Loop. Driving it six years ago this fall was my second date with Neil. :-)

  4. So beautiful! Thank you for capturing on a blog the gorgeousness that is my backyard but that I still haven't made time to go see!

  5. p.s. if you have time for a "blog friends" lunch with Danielle (who I realize is a "real" friend of yours) while you're here, that would be fun (though it looks like your days are pretty packed).

  6. Rachel, I'm actually back from Utah but will be there again in December. I would love to get together! I actually saw Danielle this time and I totally thought about getting in touch with you. Next time for sure!

  7. It's SO BEAUTIFUL. We are planning to drive up on Saturday. The fall colors are one of my very favorite things about living here.
