merry christmas to me

Cost of Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Standard which includes Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Acrobat from Adobe.com: $1,199

Cost of Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Standard which includes Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Acrobat from Student Stores: $206

I'm not kidding. Those numbers are real. I'm doing a happy dance right now. A very happy, happy dance. And singing sonnets.

A week ago I had no idea Jared's student status would pay off like this. You see, before my iMac died, I had Photoshop. But it has been months, and I have sorely missed it. Last week, I got online to check out prices and was pretty depressed to see how expensive Photoshop is these days. Très expensive. Then my darling husband informed me that as a student he can get it for much cheaper. And cheaper turned out to be a SIXTH of the price!!!! I pretty much have been in shock and awe for the past hour and a half. Shock... and... awe. Christmas is coming a little early this year.

Now if only I could get the $1,200 camera I want for $200, my life would be complete. :-) I can dream right?

  3. hey! we want the same things for christmas! people keep telling me that they can't think of a single thing that they want for christmas and, call me materialistic, but I can think of like a hundred (expensive) things that I want. what does that say about me? so happy that you found a great deal on that software, can you buy for family and friends? (wink!)
You might try looking for a used camera on craig's list...a lot of photographers end up selling really nice and perfectly good cameras just because technology is always changing and they have to be cutting edge. Just a thought!
    love you.

  5. That is amazing! I can totally relate - that's what I want for Christmas!! But I got braces for my b-day...not sure I should ask for it, although I think we could get the student discount from a friend. Is that legal? I have that exact same camera - but my lens just broke and I have to send it in for repair. Don't let your kids get anywhere near it! When you have them, that is.

  7. I loooooooove my camera. The little guys just don't even compare to this one. The pictures are absolutely amazing - and it's extremely easy to use. It is a little big but we found a really small case that fits perfectly. I have the 18-55mm lens right now. Next year we're getting the 18-200mm. I really need to take some photography classes!

  8. Glad to hear it. I've been doing a little research and I think this is the one that I want. I've only taken one class and that was a photojournalism elective in college. I used a Canon D100 then and took some decent photos. I just feel like I've gotten a lot better but now i need a good camera. I'm itching to have one!
